The best quote I heard

The best quote I heard yesterday was from on of a gang of lads, sitting on someone's doorstep, arguing loudly about somebody. One of them made the definitive statement: "Listen, listen, listen! He weren't no-one. He weren't no-one right? Now look at 'im - 'E's everyone."

Maybe they were arguing about the Buddha, but it's unlikely. I suspect that standards are slipping once again. Perhaps we should send them to Casa del Dane (né The Beatles Museum, Croydon) - one place where standards are still flying high. Yesterday we went to a BBQ hosted by Alix Dane and her parents, and it was a corking affair. Much meat was had, much Pimms was served by Tim (the original, "What cowboy put your wiring in? Oh, it was me, was it?" electrician), and our hostess Alix tended the convivial air, as always.

Charming girl - Noel Coward would have written a song about her. It would have been a love song, I suspect, and one with better lyrics than a love song I heard yesterday: "I love you like a fat kid loves cake."

Like I said, standards must be slipping. And so must I - I'm off rollerblading. TTFN, K.
