Rock And Roll Music

Last night, the gig happened. "Tangerine Soul" played their second annual St. Albans Hockey Club gig1. The result was a mixed bag. So mixed in fact, that I could probably write two separate blog entries about it. One that lists all our failings, the places in which we desperately needed more rehearsal, and how I hate appearing unprofessional. And then another one that says how much I love it when we get it right, how I love being on stage when the crowd are enjoying what we're doing, and how much I enjoyed simple things like singing backing vocals on some of our older numbers.

After barely doing anything musical since I got back from Australia, I've been quite busy with it for the past few months. Some highs, some lows. Some realizations of my weaknesses, some enjoyable highs of my strengths. It's time to lay things down now until the New Year, but I think I'm getting the taste back again. I'm getting the itch to start a new band next year. Something we could devote a bit more time and practice to. Something we could polish.

1 Yes, the rock and roll is glamourous.
