It was a weekend of
It was a weekend of slovenliness, and a weekend of exercise. Fran & I cracked it open by donning rollerblades, and ski-doodling along the Thames Path, all the way to the South Bank. Wow - I've never been along that end of the Thames, and I was amazed to find it had the open, summery vibe of Sydney Harbour. Must spend some time there this season, at one of the bars, sipping white wine and admiring the view of Tower Bridge. Who wants to join me?
Wine aside, the freewheeling frippery was followed up later in the bank holiday w/e with a trip to a gime. Sorry, a gym. Not normally a place you'd find Jenkins the Younger, but nevertheless I had a terrific time. Much swimming, followed by a quick dry-roasting session in the sauna, and I was this ready to sign up. In fact, I may well find a gime in Bromley. And the team room! Damn, but I love the heat. It reminded me of Thailand.
So that was the exercise; what of the slovenliness? Well, we watched a couple of films, Phone Booth (tense) and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back (slack); I gave in to my Id and bought a game, Wolverine's Revenge, playing on my unresolved desire to be a superhero (which all stems back to a mother with unobtainable standards); and of course, we drank more than a little wine.
Wine, wheels, water, warmth and Wolverine. A good weekend was had.
