This morning I came into

This morning I came into work, started up my laptop as usual, and took stock of my desktop wallpaper - a promo shot for The Matrix Reloaded. In fact, it was a picture of Laurence Fishburne - Morpheus. Looking at it, it seemed weird. Something was wrong in the world. Of all the possible images available to me, I'd chosen a picture of a 40 year old man with an Uzi in each hand.
A male, a killler.

Disturbed, I flipped to the opposite pole and replaced this with a different choice - the rather pleasing image of Kylie Minogue wearing her usual not much. Let me tell you, she looked delish. Symbolically, this isn't a bad choice. It's sex over death. The spectator's version of, "Make love, not war."

But here's the rub - when people in the office walk past me, and see the image on my backdrop, why do I feel far less comfortable with Kylie than Morpheus?

I think if we knew the answer, we'd know a lot more about how your's truly ticks. We'd also know why Americans are very uncomfortable with people kissing in public, but quite comfortable carrying guns in street. Not to mention the military situation...

And for the record, my colleague Ray thinks I think too much.
